St. Jacobs

Hiking

In St. Jacobs the Health Valley Trail is a colorful 5-km (3-mi) walking trail with boardwalks over wetlands beside the Conestoga River. A 1½-km (about 1-mi) minihike can be enjoyed even by parents with babies in strollers on the generations-old Mill Race Trail. The 5-km (3-mi) pathway along the Elora Gorge between Fergus and Elora, 15 km (9 mi) north of Elmira, is another great minihike. Landmarks on the path include a whirlpool at Templin Gardens, a restored English garden, and a bridge, which hikers cross at Mirror Basin.
