Trout Point Lodge Review

"If you build they will come" seems to have been the philosophy behind this eco-resort on the fringe of a protected wilderness, 40 km (25 mi) northeast of Yarmouth. The three-story lodge—think a log cabin on steroids—balances rustic and elegant, pairing handmade twig furnishings with luxe linens and Tiffany lamps. The 100-acre property offers canoeing, kayaking, guided fishing, hiking, and wildlife watching. Yet it's eating that lures many. Guests gush over two on-site restaurants (prix fixe C$63-C$75). Gourmands can also take classes at the lodge's cooking school (www.acadianfarm.com), arguably the best in Canada.
