In July and August, actors perform works by the Bard and others in Point Pleasant Park, at the southern end of the Halifax peninsula. The natural setting—dark woods, rocky shore, and ruins of fortifications—provides a dramatic backdrop. Performances take place from Tuesday through Friday at 7 pm, and on weekends at 1 pm. Reserved seating is available (C$25) up to two hours before showtime, or you can arrive when you please and make a donation (C$20 is suggested). You
can also rent chairs and blankets to sit on (C$2 and C$1 respectively). The nearby Park Place Theatre hosts performances during the shoulder months.
