In a prime location on the waterfront part of the Historic Properties, this gastro brewpub pairs well-made food with beers crafted right on the premises. Huge wooden beams support cathedral ceilings in the lofty bar area, where patrons sip Hop Rock Candy Mountain IPA and other brews in view of gleaming copper brewery equipment. You'll find the requisite pub grub such as soups, sandwiches, pizza, pasta, and fish-and-chips, but the menu also includes more sophisticated fare—Jamaican curried chicken, perhaps, or filet mignon with Blackpoint clams in red wine. The outdoor patio faces the boardwalk; on a fine summer day few other spots in town provide better people-watching. On weekend evenings, the Hart & Thistle presents live entertainment.
