Nova Scotia is full of festivals. To celebrate the harvest there's the Apple Blossom Festival in Wolfville in May, celebrations run straight through delicacies and the season: June and July bring lobster festivals in Shelburne and Pictou, respectively, and a Seafest in Yarmouth in July celebrates all the fruits of the sea. August sees the blueberry festival in Oxford and scallop days in Digby.
There are also events all over the province highlighting the province's diversity of cultures: in June there's a three-day Greek fest in Halifax and a weekend-long multicultural festival on the Dartmouth waterfront. July has a celebration of all things Scottish at the Antigonish Highland Games. There's a two-week Acadian festival in Clare in August.
The sea inspires festivals like the Wooden Boat Festival in Mahone Bay in August; sailing race weeks are held every summer in Chester and Baddeck.
For music and arts lovers, Halifax hosts the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo (a military pageantry) in June, an Atlantic Jazz Fest in July, and a busker (street performers) festival in August. September brings a fringe theater festival and the Atlantic Film Fest while only Cape Breton can lay claim to the Celtic Colours International Festival every October.
