Fodor's Review

It's doubtful you'll drive by this informal restaurant on Mabou's main thoroughfare without seeing a parking lot full of cars. Owned by the proprietors of the Duncreigan Country Inn, it's a popular hangout for Cape Bretoners but also draws "come from away" diners thanks to its long lunchtime menu of hearty salads, creamy chowders, deep-fried seafood plates, and homemade desserts. After 5 (all day on Sunday) the dinner menu goes more upscale with dishes like scallops in

white-wine and cream sauce, and lemon-chicken supreme. At peak times, reservations are recommended. The café displays local artwork, making this a pleasant place to linger, but for those in a rush there's a take-out deli counter.
