Mockbeggar Plantation

Mockbeggar Plantation Review

The home of F. Gordon Bradley, a proponent of Confederation, has been restored to its 1939 appearance, the better to chronicle the days leading up to Newfoundland's becoming, a decade later, a province of Canada. The site's history goes much farther back, at least to the 1700s, when it was a fishery plantation. Interpreters describing this and subsequent eras lead tours of an early-18th-century fish store, a carpentry shop, and a cod-liver-oil factory.
