Port au Choix National Historic Site

Port au Choix National Historic Site Review

The remains of Maritime Archaic and Dorset people have been found in abundance along this coast, and Port au Choix National Historic Site has an interesting interpretation center about them. An archaeological dig in the area has also discovered an ancient village. Ask at the interpretation center for directions to it.

At Plum Point you have two choices: you can drive to St. Anthony via Route 430, which travels along the Strait of Belle Isle before heading inland. Alternately you can take Route 432, which joins Route 430 near the St. Anthony airport. For variety most visitors travel one way going and the other way coming back.
