Java Jack's Restaurant and Gallery

Java Jack's Restaurant and Gallery Review

The pleasures of this lively restaurant begin with a stroll past the meticulously kept organic garden, where you can see the herbs, peas, and other vegetables you'll enjoy inside. The dinner menu has many seafood options—the pan-seared scallops in mild mango curry are especially good—as well as meat dishes and vegan and vegetarian selections. The wines are well chosen and reasonably priced. The restaurant doubles as a gallery; works by Atlantic Canadian artists (all for sale) decorate the walls. Stop in for a take-away bag lunch—perhaps a shredded-pork sandwich slathered with partridgeberry-honey mustard—for the boat trip to Western Brook Pond, or dine here and enjoy the splendid harbor views.
