The pleasures of this lively, busy restaurant begin with a stroll by the meticulously kept organic garden, where you can see the herbs, peas, and other vegetables you'll enjoy inside. Stop in to pick up a take-away bag lunch (maybe a sandwich of shredded pork with partridgeberry-honey mustard) for the boat trip to Western Brook Pond, or eat in; there are great views of the harbor. Dinner is a real treat. Wines are reasonably priced, and the menu has many seafood options—the pan-seared scallops in mild mango curry are especially good—as well as popular vegan and vegetarian dishes. The restaurant also doubles as a gallery; work by Atlantic Canadian artists (all for sale) decorates the walls.
