Cool yet pleasingly unpretentious, this downtown eatery has been getting rave reviews since it opened in 2009, attracting an eclectic mix of businesspeople, shoppers, students, and city visitors. The menu features classic deli fare, including sandwiches piled high with meat smoked on the premises, hearty soups, imaginative salads, and such comfort food as mac and cheese and ribs. There's a great weekend breakfast menu, too, including champagne or vodka cocktails. This is not a late-night spot—it's only open until 3 pm early in the week—so plan to eat early, and if you have to stand in line, be assured it's worth the wait.
