In an affluent suburb with tree-lined streets, palatial homes, tennis, golf, and a yacht club, this inn fits right in with its clapboards, columns, and antiques. Some bedrooms have fireplaces; one suite has a whirlpool bath. The chefs honed their skills in some of the finest upper-Canadian kitchens, and their creative ideas are reflected in the dining room's ($$-$$$$) Continental and seafood dishes. Favorites include a tangy chowder of Atlantic salmon, vegetables, and capers, and a full lamb rack crusted in walnuts and Dijon.
