Fodor's Expert Review Auberge Inn Thyme

310 Main St., Shediac, New Brunswick, E4P 2E3, Canada

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

A highlight of Shediac's downtown hub, this elegant heritage inn is full of character and enlivened by the friendly locals who frequent the coffee shop. It was built in 1911—housing Shediac's first dentist and a provincial premier, among others—and has been carefully restored and furnished with lovely period furniture. The seven rooms are comfortable and stylish, and each has a private bath. A gourmet breakfast is served, and the coffee house features organic specialty coffees and teas; lunch and dinner are also available. There are hiking trails nearby, and the inn rents bikes for exploring.

  • lovely country inn feel
  • gracious hosts
  • spacious front porch

CONS
