On the edge of Vieux-Montréal, this modern luxury hotel is part of the Montréal World Trade Center, a block-long retail and office complex. The 26-story brick tower is softened a bit with fanciful turrets and pointed roofs. Rooms are large, with lush carpets, pastel walls, and heavy drapes that pull back to reveal floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking downtown or Vieux-Montréal and the waterfront. Bathrooms have separate marble tubs and showers. Le Continent restaurant serves fine international cuisine. A footbridge links the hotel's main building with the 18th-century Nordheimer Building, which houses many of its public rooms. Pros: easy underground access to shopping and nightlife. Cons: business oriented (the convention centre is across the street) and a bit stuffy.
