By Train in Victoria and Vancouver Island

The E&N Railiner, a scenic rail service operated by VIA Rail, runs once a day from Victoria's Johnson Street Station to Courtenay on northern Vancouver Island. It stops almost everywhere en route, including Duncan and Chemainus in the Cowichan Valley. The train is tiny, so reservations are highly recommended in summer.
