Victoria and Vancouver Island Travel Guide
You can golf year-round in Victoria and southern Vancouver Island, and you almost have to just to try all the courses. Victoria alone has several public golf courses, ranging from rolling sea-view fairways to challenging mountaintop sites. Southern Vancouver Island is home to the Vancouver Island Golf Trail, where you'll find 10 championship courses.
Arbutus Ridge Golf Club. Bear Mountain Golf & Country Club. Built near the top of a 1,100-foot mountain about 20 minutes north of Victoria, this is widely regarded as the island's most exciting course. Designed by Jack Nicklaus and his son Steve, the Mountain Course has an extra 19th hole built on a cliff ledge with striking views across the city. Olympic View Golf Club. The distant peaks of the Olympic Mountains are the backdrop to this bucolic par-72 course, home to two waterfalls and 12 lakes.
