Victoria and Vancouver Island Restaurants

Sooke Harbour House Review

The relaxed, ocean-view dining room at this art-filled lodge is the stage for some of the country's most innovative meals. The nightly three- or four-course menus rely almost entirely on local provisions, including seafood from nearby waters, traditional First Nations foods, and about 200 varieties of herbs, vegetables, and edible flowers from the inn's own organic garden. You can also book a Gastronomic Adventure, which includes a visit with the chef and a multicourse tasting menu. The wine cellar is exceptional—cellar tours run nightly at 5 pm. Don't want a multi-course meal? On Sunday afternoons a less formal à la carte lunch is served.
