On the first 15 floors of the tallest building in Vancouver—a 61-story tower of angled glass studded with gold squares that glint in the sunshine—is this upscale Asian chain's first hotel in North America. Soaring windows make the spacious rooms feel even larger, and warm shades of tan and taupe and dark-wood paneling capture a sleek, contemporary aesthetic. Such high-tech perks as bedside curtain controls and "do not disturb" doorbell indicators establish the property's five-star credentials, as do the luxurious linens, cuddly robes, and bathroom LCD TVs.
