Why We Like It

O Canada House Bed & Breakfast offers the kind of charm and hospitality you won't find in a more traditional hotel, and the welcoming staff, fantastic location, and incredible breakfast set this property apart from other B&Bs in the Vancouver area.

Fodor's Expert Review

When we say this Victorian home is historic, we mean it (the first version of "O Canada," the Canadia National Anthem, was penned here in 1909). But that's not all the O Canada House Bed & Breakfast has to offer; with a location that’s tucked away from the busy main stretch of busy downtown and a quaint, cozy setting, this inn is the perfect space for travelers who enjoy the B&B atmosphere but want the convenience of being close to the heart of the city center.

Room

No two suites at O Canada House Bed and Breakfast are the same, but all feature an attractive combination of antique-inspired furnishings and cozy decor (like patterned comforters and stylishly worn-in sitting chairs).

Tip Most of the suites at O Canada House Bed and Breakfast are built for one to two people—if you're traveling with a larger group or will have the kids in tow, make sure to request the Penthouse Suite, which has two king-sized beds.

Bathroom

Each suite has an ensuite bathroom with a shower, sink, and simple toiletries.

You Should Know Some of the bathrooms are small and don’t have a ton of counter space, so make sure you ask about your specific suite’s bathroom size when booking.

Lobby

Instead of a lobby, O Canada House has a cozy parlor, front porch, and large outdoor patio for relaxing outside of your suite. The entire house maintains its charm with period paintings and stylish vintage furniture.

Dining

A full three-course breakfast is included with your room rate and served in a communal dining room with coffee, tea, and juice. They offer a rotating set menu of options, including top-notch homemade baked goods. If you get hungry outside of breakfast hours, feel free to grab a treat from the 24-hour butler’s pantry, which comes stocked with complimentary baked goods, beverages, and other small snacks.

You Should Know The breakfast menu is fairly eclectic, so if you have any dietary restrictions, make sure to let staff know in advance so they can accommodate you during your stay.

Drinking

Sherry is offered in the parlor (or, weather permitting, on the patio) every evening.
