Fairmont Waterfront

Fodor's Review:

This luxuriously modern 23-story hotel is across the street from the Convention and Exhibition Centre and the Canada Place cruise-ship terminal, but it's the floor-to-ceiling windows with ocean, park, and mountain views in most of the guest rooms that really make this hotel special. Adorned with blond-wood furniture and contemporary Canadian artwork, each room also has a window that opens. Elevator waits can be frustrating so consider asking for a room on a lower floor, though you'll be sacrificing view for this minor convenience. Next to the mountain-view pool is a rooftop herb garden—an aromatic retreat open to guests. The hotel's canine ambassador, Morgan, is available for petting, pampering, and taking for strolls. Pros: Harbor views, proximity to cruise-ship terminal, the lovely terraced pool near the patio herb garden. Cons: Overlooks the (sometimes noisy) construction of the convention center expansion; the elevator line-ups; the seemingly always busy lobby lounge.
