The Sutton Place Hotels
At a Glance
- classy, terrific lounge bar for romantic trysts

Book NowThe Sutton Place Hotels Review
More like an exclusive European guesthouse than a large modern hotel, this refined property has rooms furnished in a Parisian style with soft neutrals and lush fabrics, and service is gracious and attentive. The full spa has a wide menu. La Grande Résidence (part of Sutton Place), an apartment hotel available for stays of at least a week, is next door, at 855 Burrard. The Fleuri restaurant serves Continental cuisine and is particularly noted for its late-night chocolate buffet. There's an on-site wine merchant that stocks more than 500 labels and a European-style bakery for French pastries and croissants.

The only thing to fault in this great hotel is the dining room, which is sort of stodgy. Everything else is impeccable.

We stayed here over spring break with the grandparents and kids in a two-bedroom suite. Many positives, few cons.
Pros:
(1) Very good-sized two-bedroom suites in the La Grande Residence.
(2) Modern, clean decor
(3) LCD TV with DVD player in living room, LCD in main bedroom
(4) 1.5 bathrooms
(5) Kitchenette
(6) Pastry treat on arrival
(7) In the middle over everything (close to Yaletown, etc.)
(8) Spa in hotel
(9) Wine shop with decent selection attached to hotel
Cons:
(1) "High-speed internet" not always high-speed -- and expensive at $15/day
(2) One of three elevators broken for entire stay, causing delays
(3) Maid service forgot to set up sofa bed for kids during entire stay
Overall, an excellent value in an excellent location for those traveling with kids. -

We just returned from Vancouver, 8/20/07. We studied many websited including this one on what hotel to stay at since we had never been there. We chose The Sutton Place. The reviews were mixed but we had an absolute perfect stay at The Sutton Place. We were given an excellent room on the 19th floor with a view of the harbor (now don't get excited...it's a narrow and far view but still a view). There were not other hotels obstructing our view at all. The location was perfect- Robson street is just around the corner and you are 10 minutes or less from everywhere else by taxi or you could easily walk. There is a Grayline City Tour bus stop right across the street so you could hop on and hop off the tour trolleys. The staff was incredible...not one complaint from the bellman to the front desk to the concierge...all great! We even had three celeb sightings while there just inches from us as we walked into the hotel they were walking out. Very Hollywood if you like that type of thing! This hotel was the least expensive hotel on our list of 10 that we called (all 4 star or above). We found the hotel to be the best value and the best service for our money! If you don't want to eat their expensive breakfast then you can go across the street to Denny's and bring it back to the room. They do charge for wireless internet $14.95 a day. We didn't buy it. We used the fitness center and it had everything you would need. We were very please and highly recommend it. The rooms had all the ammenities from robes, umbrella, safe, cotton balls, soaps and creams, hair dryer and lighted makeup mirror. The window even opened to let in fresh air. A+++++ hotel! Location, Price, Service...you can't beat it. Oh, and there was always a Taxi waiting to pick you up and if for some reason there wasn't one they picked up a YELLOW CAB hotline phone and one showed up in seconds. EASY EASY EASY TO STAY AT THIS HOTEL AND MAXIMIZE YOUR VANCOUVER EXPERIENCE.
