West End beaches

Fodor's Review:

English Bay, the city's best known beach, lies just to the east of the south entrance to Stanley Park, at the foot of Denman Street. A waterslide, street performers, and artists keep things interesting all summer. Farther along Beach Drive, Sunset Beach is too close to the downtown core for clean, safe swimming, but is a great spot for an evening stroll. You can catch a ferry to Granville Island here, or swim at the Vancouver Aquatic Centre,a public indoor pool and fitness center.
