Caffé de Medici

Fodor's Review:

Run by the same family since 1980, this elegant northern Italian restaurant is—despite its location on Vancouver's most fashionable street—pleasantly free of attitude. Tomato salad made with buffalo mozzarella is a popular starter, and main courses might include gnocchi with wild boar and Gorgonzola cheese; lamb osso buco served over risotto; or wild salmon paired with artichoke puree and an Alaskan king crab salad. There's a separate vegetarian menu, too. The quiet atmosphere (it's set back from busy Robson Street) and gracious service make this a good choice for business lunches or romantic dinners.
