Kirin Restaurant

Kirin Restaurant Review

Take in cityscapes and mountain views from this spacious room opposite City Hall where the focus is on Cantonese-style seafood, including whole fish, crab, and lobster fresh from the tanks. They do an excellent job with vegetables, too; ask for whatever's fresh that day. Dim sum is served daily. There's another location in suburban Richmond. Both branches are an easy ride on the Canada Line from downtown.

Fantastic Chinese food. My husband always orders Kung Pao Chicken, which at Kirin Seafood was the best ever. I ordered Spicy Scallops in Szechuan Sauce and we split an order of Vegetable Buddah Feast. The scallops were hot, tasty, included asparagus and mushrooms, and they don't scrimp on the seafood! I asked for a bit of spice to the Buddah Feast and got the best ever. I would estimate that 90% of the diners were Asian, which is usually a good sign. The prices are a bit higher than most Chinese restaurants, but worth every penny. The place was crowded so make reservations.
