One of the best places to try British Columbian food and wine is this lovely candlelit bistro overlooking English Bay. The menu changes regularly and relies almost completely on local and regional products, from salmon and shellfish to game and fresh organic vegetables. Vegetarian selections are always available, and the exclusively Pacific Northwest and Californian wine list has at least 40 choices by the glass. Popular alternatives include the 100 Mile Tasting Menu (all
ingredients are sourced from within 100 miles of the restaurant) and the vegetarian regional tasting menu. The prix-fixe early dinner, served from 5 to 6 pm, is a steal at C$30. Reservations are required for these prix-fixe dinners.
