St. Regis Hotel Review

While its renovations are clearly inspired by New York, this 1916 boutique hotel retains a distinctly Canadian feel. Rooms and suites come in various shapes, sizes, and configurations (sofa beds and adjoining doors are good family options) as befits the building's original architecture. All have king- or queen-size beds, plug-and-play gadget panels, and in-room safes that accommodate laptops. You have a choice of bathroom styles—some only have showers, but make no mistake, they're first-class and all have heated bathroom floors. Although there are no views, the rates include a full breakfast and other niceties like bottled water. A day pass to the Steve Nash Sports Club is available (complimentary if you book a suite).

Good breakfast, tiny rooms, no view, not special

The breakfast is very good - cooked to order with a lot from which to choose. But the rooms are very, very small with poor views and the service just OK.

When we checked in on our anniversary we were given a tiny, second floor room. We were willing to pay more for a better room but it took 2 hours and several rooms ('wait here for 30 minutes and we'll come get you...') to figure that out.

I think this is a great hotel if you're looking to save money, but it's not the right place if you're looking for romance or a get-away.
