Lonsdale Quay

Fodor's Review:

Of the many public markets in the Greater Vancouver area, this indoor seaside market is one of the most popular. Stalls selling fresh produce, exotic fare, and ready-to-eat food fill the lower level; upstairs are boutiques, toy stores, and a kids' play area. Outside you can wander the quay, admire the fishing boats and tugs moored here, and enjoy the views of the downtown skyline across the water. You'll also see a number of old dry docks and canneries finding new leases on life as fashionable condominiums. The SeaBus foot-passenger ferry (604/953-3333 www.translink.bc.ca), part of the city's public transit system, leaves the quay every 15 to 30 minutes for the 13-minute ride to Waterfront Station downtown. This is a great rainy-day activity.
