Black Rock Oceanfront Resort Review

On a rocky ledge at the edge of a shallow inlet, Black Rock Resort is Ucluelet's first upscale, full-service resort, and its modern design and ambience is unexpected in this quiet village. The decor combines glass, steel, granite, and wood against a backdrop of dramatic views of the black-rock coastline. Studio, one-, and two-bedroom accommodations are spacious and have fireplaces, balconies, and kitchens. The Float Lounge, behind a two-sided fireplace, serves cocktails and small plates, while Fetch offers fresh, contemporary cuisine. The property has two "hot pools"—smaller than a swimming pool but larger than a whirlpool—as well as a soothing spa.
