Shelter Review

Popular with locals and visitors, the centrally located Shelter has a lounge and patio for casual meals and an upstairs dining room. The fare ranges from crispy calamari to pan-seared salmon to grilled ribeye. Small plates have a coastal theme, and include such favorites as freshly shucked oysters, steamed mussels, and spicy albacore tuna.

    Loved it

We have been visiting Tofino every summer for 3 years and have tried most of the restaurants. Many are overpriced and mediocre, so it was nice to see this new addition to the scene. We were very impressed. The food was, in a nutshell, excellent. Eveyone at our table (5 of us) had a different entre and appetizer, and without going into details, no one was disappointed. Great wine list as well. Ambience is great, on a nice evening a table on the patio (they have gas heaters)has a fantastic view of the harbour.} Service was a bit slow, but the place was packed,so it was forgivable. Overall, I think the best dining experience we have had in Tofino. Go early or be prepared to wait. But the wait was well worth it.
