Sobo

Fodor's Review

The name, short for "sophisticated bohemian," sums up the style here: a classically trained chef serving casual fare influenced by international street food. The off-beat concept started in a purple truck before finding a permanent home in this light-filled café and bistro. The truck's long gone, but the food is still eclectic. Tapas might include halibut cheeks or forest-mushroom risotto bullets. Small plates like coconut masala curry with quinoa, chickpeas, and house-made

roti, and mains ranging from cedar-plank wild salmon to mushroom enchiladas never fail to impress. There's a great kids' menu and a deli counter. Call ahead in winter.
