This delightful European-style café is on the bottom floor of a landmark building in the historic Old Strathcona neighborhood. Home-style dishes such as hot blueberry scones, fruit-filled pastries, soups, noodle salads, and grilled sandwiches are specialties. The chicken curry is excellent and the selection of gelati is extensive. There's an impressive selection of organic coffees along with international beer and wine sold by the glass. A collection of Sunday newspapers from around the globe is an added bonus.

I love this cafe on whyte avenue. I have been goin for the last 5 years although i would not say i am a regular. I save this cafe for nights when i am meeting with friends that i have not seen in ages. i can not think of a better place to sit down with a dessert or ice cream and coffee to catch up. I have been recently and although the prices are high i always enjoy the ambience and atmosphere, especially that of a familly run bussiness right in the heart of strathcona.

As residents of the Old Strathcona neighbourhood, we used to go to this cafe several times a week. Lately (in the last 6-8 months), we have had such awful service that we have stopped going back. The service has never been stellar, but lately we have had worse than terrible service every single time we have gone. We've also noticed that the food quality seems to have gone down, and that the cheesecakes and cakes, previously worth braving the bad service for, are stale more often than they are fresh. We kept going back, hoping it was just an isolated incident, but after our last experience there, we have decided to call it quits. We have just found that we are unable to relax in a place where we are made to feel like we are imposing just by being there.
