Fodor's Review

The views from this 626-foot (191-meter), scepter-shaped edifice take in the city's layout, the surrounding plains, and the face of the Rockies rising 80 km (50 mi) to the west. A "torch" that crowns the tower is lighted for special events and occasions. The tower top also holds the revolving Panorama Room restaurant, which serves all three meals; Tops Grill; and a gift shop.

Great place to start your trip

I always like to take my out of town guests here. It is the tallest observation tower in Western Canada and it is nice for people to see how spread out the city is. On a clear day you can really see the mountains too. A couple years ago they added a glass floor off the observation deck and I think it is even better and less expensive than the CN Tower in Toronto. The food in the restaurant is reasonably priced compared to other restaurants close

by (Breakfast $9-$14, Lunch $13-$22, Dinner $18-55 CDN prices as of Summer 2007). When you have reservations in the rotating dining room the admission is 50% off.

We had such a great time. The staff were so nice to us and told us all sorts of interesting things about Calgery and their tower. We just happened to be downtown the day they opened the glass floor. It was very scary, but I managed to walk on it. A little boy was even jumping and lying down besdie us. We had lunch in the revolving restaurant, the food was pretty good. We had a booth and it was very romantic. Don't bother shopping in downtown

though, not worth the trip.

Boring and overpriced, a great representative of Calgary.

What better sign of an "aspiring city" than a phallic tower with a revolving restaurant! Please, we have seen this before. Oh but the views of the parking lots are superb! And the tacky cardboard displays are breathtaking! As for the view of the Rockies, it's like looking at the edge of a saw, barely poking above the end of a table. Don't waste your time here.
