133 9th Ave. SW, Calgary, Alberta, T2P 2M3, Canada
Built in 1914 as Calgary's grand railroad hotel, the Palliser remains the city's most elegant accommodation. Guest rooms are tastefully appointed with traditional furnishings and have ornate moldings and high ceilings. The Rimrock restaurant is excellent and although the Sunday brunch is a bit pricey it's the best in town. A covered walkway connects the hotel to the performing-arts center and the Glenbow Museum.
