Rafting

With several stretches of Class IV rapids, the Kicking Horse River has excellent white-water rafting. Half-day excursions run about C$65 per person, full-day excursions about C$99-C$150. Rafting season is generally May through September, but high-water conditions, especially in spring, may force cancellation of the wilder trips. Alpine Rafting (250/344-6778. www.alpinerafting.com) runs mild to extreme white-water trips on the Kicking Horse. Glacier Raft Company (250/344-6521. www.glacierraft.com) specializes in extreme white water (Class IV) but also runs more serene trips. Wet 'N' Wild Adventures (250/344-6546 or 800/668-9119. www.wetnwild.bc.ca) conducts moderate to wild half- and full-day trips on Kicking Horse white water.
