The Kicking Horse Mountain Resort (1500 Kicking Horse Trail. 866/754-5425. www.kickinghorseresort.com) has something for skiers of all levels. There is a year-round express gondola that whisks you to Canada's second highest peak (4,133 feet/1,260 meters) as well as four chair lifts. Together they access 106 ski runs ranging from beginner to expert, and onto snow that is often described as "champagne powder." A day of skiing costs C$62.
