By Monorail

Built for the 1962 World's Fair, the Seattle Monorail is a quick, convenient link between the Seattle Center and Downtown's Westlake Mall, located at Fourth Avenue and Pike Street. Making the 1-mi journey in just two minutes, the monorail departs both points every 10 minutes from 7:30 AM to 11 PM on weekdays and 9 AM to 11 PM weekends. The round-trip fare is $3; children 4 and under ride free. During weekends, Seattle Sonics basketball games, and the Folklife, Bite of Seattle, and Bumbershoot festivals -- which all take place at the Seattle Center -- you can park in the Bon-Macy's garage at Third Avenue and Stewart Street, take the monorail, and present your monorail ticket stub when you return for discounted parking rates of $5 on Friday and Saturday and $4 on Sunday and Monday.
