Pacific Science Center

Fodor's Review:

With about 200 indoor and outdoor hands-on exhibits and a state-of-the-art planetarium, this is a great place for both kids and grown-ups. The startling dinosaur exhibit is complete with moving robotic creatures, while Tech Zones has robots and virtual-reality games. Machines analyze human physiology in Body Works. The tropical butterfly house is stocked with farm-raised chrysalides weekly; other creatures live in the woodland and tide pool areas. Next door, IMAX movies and laser rock shows run daily.

  • Cost: Center $10, IMAX $8, light shows $5–$8
  • Open: Weekdays 10–5, weekends 10–6
