Senor Moose

¢-$, Mexican, Ballard

Fodor's Review:

Before you resign yourself to waiting in line for brunch at the Dish Café (the most obvious choice for brunch in the area), head a little farther down Leary Way into Ballard to Senor Moose. Looking like a cross between a truck-stop diner and a Tex-Mex restaurant, this tiny café has outstanding breakfast options, including traditional favorites from every region of Mexico. Wait for a space in the tiny dining room or belly up to the counter and read the paper (someone will have one to share) or just watch the frenetic activity as everything from soup to salsa is made from scratch. Lunch and dinner are just as good as desayunos, with delectable pork carnitas and chorizo from the state of Michoacan being favorites.
