$-$$, Eclectic, Downtown
Fodor's Review:
Does the world really need another "fusion tapas" place? Probably not, but Marazul has added something positive to Seattle's dining scene. The tapas are literally all over the map -- Cuban, Caribbean, and pan-Asian influences are responsible for items like miso seviche and Jamaican jerk salmon sushi, most of which are very successful experiments. A vague island theme (and gallons of premium and hard-to-find rums) holds everything together, but don't expect steel-drum music and giant drinks with umbrellas -- Marazul is hip and sexy, with its mix of exotic woods, its gorgeous copper-accented rum bar, and its separate tatami room. Even the gimmicky touches like mah-jongg and dominos games at the bar and world music on the sound system are fun and tastefully executed. Patio seating is available in summer. Breakfast and lunch are served daily, a novel concept for a trendy spot.
