Uwajimaya Village Food Court

¢-$, Asian, International District

User Rating: **** 4.0

Fodor's Review:

Not only an outstanding grocery and gift shop, Uwajimaya also has a hoppin' food court offering a quick tour of Asian cuisines at lunch-counter prices. For Japanese or Chinese, the deli offers sushi, teriyaki, and barbecued duck. For Vietnamese food, try the fresh spring rolls, served with hot chili sauce, at Saigon Bistro. Shilla has Korean grilled beef and kim chee stew, and there are Filipino lumpia (spring rolls) to be found at Inay's Kitchen. The Honeymoon Tea Shop sells pearl tea, a cold drink served with a fat straw for sucking up the tapioca balls at the bottom of the cup.

Authentic Asian can't be beat for the price

Posted by Mike from Seattle, WA on 1/5/06

Yes, it's in a huge Asian market so it's noisy and extremely busy. However, the food is really authentic, fresh, and can't be beat for the price. Huge selection will insure that you find something, or many things, that you will like. When I'm in the ID, I almost always drop in if I have the time. My wife swears that the sushi is the freshest in town but I stick with the Asian cooked food.
