Fodor's Review:

Chef-owner Christine Keff got the idea for Flying Fish on a trip to Thailand; she was impressed by the simplicity and quality of the seafood dishes grilled up in beachside restaurants. Even after a decade, the Flying Fish has stayed true to its inspiration: the fish is some of the freshest you'll find in Seattle, every ingredient is organic, and the dishes, while inventive, never get too busy. The menu changes daily, but you'll often find seafood and shellfish prepared with Thai curries and seasonings, and you'll always have the option of the delicious no-nonsense fried chicken. This joint is always jumping; dinner reservations are strongly recommended.

Avoid this place

After reading an article about this place in the magazine conveniently placed in our hotel room, my girlfriend and I decided to try this. Upon arriving we were offered a seat at either the bar or patio. We took the seat on the patio despite the marginal weather and proceeded to wait 15 minutes before a waiter came out to offer us drinks. By this time we had already decided on main courses and so we ordered the whole meal. Half an hour later we received the meal (no drinks!). With our waiter nowhere to be seen we had to ask another server to look into our drinks for us. Another 10 minutes later they showed up. We did not see a server again until we got up (a good 10 minutes after our meals and drinks were done) to ask the manager for our bill. He didn't seem overly surprised and said sorry and said he would take care of our bill. He then brought it back at full price. My simple suggestion: Despite whatever publication or person says that food is good here, it is not worth the spotty service. There are tons of other good restaurants in the area to try.
