The North Carolina Mountains offer some of the best mountain biking in the East. Among the favorite places for mountain biking are Tsali, a peninsula sticking out into Lake Fontana near Bruston City, in the Nantahala National Forest; Dupont State Forest, just south of Brevard; and the Bent Creek, Davidson River, and Mills River sections of the Pisgah Ranger District of the Pisgah National Forest.
