Overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway, this large restaurant in Barefoot Landing has leather booths, Australian aboriginal art on the walls, an extensive wine list, and a classy bar area. The menu features grilled meats, and many of the selections have an Asian flair. (The Australian theme comes through more strongly in the decor, and the Greg Norman merchandise for sale, than in the food.) Highlights are the lobster dumplings, miso-marinated sea bass, and habanero-rubbed tenderloin.

Norman is over par

This a beautiful and sophisticated dining establishment, and the whole experience while looking around this room transports one to the upscale restaurants in major cities. Wonderful bar, lovely decor, comfy chairs all in an intercoastal waterway setting. However, from my 4 time experience at this restaurant, I can report that the service can be very up and down, the food much the same way and the prices are what you would expect to pay in upscale restaurants in major cities. A real experience dining here, but very expensive for inconsistent service and sometimes wonderful but other times dead average food.

Our Group's Pilgrimage Destination
Posted by Mike from chicago on 1/28/06
Greg Norman's has been a destination stop for our golf group the last 4 years. Given that there are 12 guys with a variety of tastes and preferences in restaurants, this has always been a favorite. Last year we ate there 2 of the 3 nights in town (group unanimous decision). The ambiance is great. I love the leather booths...you sink into them after a tiring day of golf with a cold beer or martini, get a great steak or fish, and enjoy a superb dinner.
Out of 60 dinners served to our group, only two dinners (both fish selections) were subpar & disappointing. All the others were outstanding. Coming from the midwest where steak is king, Norman's steaks were excellent. Side dishes are also outstanding, and they have a great wine list. We have always had outstanding servers. The large bar area is a great place to relax while waiting for a table.
Although the food is not inexpensive, our group believes it is a good value for what you get.
Based on our multiple dinners, it's difficult for us to understand why others have had poor experiences and rated it so lowly. It has been a consistenly high performer for our group, and we will continue to make it a regular stop for our crew.

What planet are the negative reviewers from?

This place has fabulous food. I have eaten here probably 10-15 times and must say only one of those meals was a 4 on a 1-5 scale...the others were 5's. If you don't like this food you must have some agenda not related your experience at the restaurant.
