By Air in Charleston

By Air

Charleston International Airport, about 12 mi west of downtown, is served by American Eagle, Continental, Delta, United Express, Northwest, and US Airways.

Wings Air, a commuter airline that flies to and from Atlanta, operates out of Mount Pleasant Regional Airport and the Charleston Executive Airport. Private planes can also use Charleston Executive Airport.

Several cab companies serve the airport, including the Charleston Black Cab Company, which has London-style taxis with uniformed drivers that cost about $25 to downtown. Airport Ground Transportation arranges shuttles, which cost $14 per person to downtown.

If you want to add a little excitement to your life, you can arrange for an executive sedan, a stretch limo, or even a super-stretch limo to pick you up at the airport. A Star Limousine has the largest and most varied fleet in town.
