Amtrak service between New York City and Boston makes stops at Westerly, Kingston, and Providence. Providence Station is the city's main station. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) commuter rail service connects Boston and Providence during weekday morning and evening rush hours for about half the cost of an Amtrak ride.
