A Philadelphia institution for almost a century, the elegant Bellevue sparkles. The spacious rooms, done in bright prints, have the high ceilings and moldings typical of older buildings. The posh restaurant, called XIX, has views of the city from its 19th-floor perch; The Barrymore Room, topped by a 30-foot stained-glass dome, is great for tea and cocktails. The hotel's lower floors have been transformed into a shopping center with stores like Tiffany and Ralph Lauren.

not sure why this is a Park Hyatt, as it seems more like a museum and not a good one, as you'll get better service at the bus station than you do in their sky restaurant on 19th floor, as i'm not sure what the name of the restaurant is, what the items on the menu are, as they are not clearly stated and god help you if you ask for anything, as they'll resent and blame you at the same time. If anyone is alive at corporate in Chicago, this shouldn't be a Hyatt.

Stayed for two nights and enjoyed the experience. Room was a delight, spacious, nice decor, quiet. Hotel is elegant and staff helpful. Fitness center is terrific, but they do not allow kids under 18 in the center at all, even with parental escort. My 15 year old boy was very upset to learn this upon check in as he was planning to use the pool and workout as soon as we arrived. Location is in the center of everything, and walking distance to most anything you would want to see in Center City/ Historical area. Great shops on first floors, and Starbucks too.

Posh Hotel with Excellent service with rooms that leave something to be desired
Posted by Sue from Washington D.C on 1/7/06
This is a very "posh-upscale" hotel. The service was excellent. The queen deluxe was excellent as far as the spaciousness, but that is about as far as it goes. The venilation in the room was terrible. It was so warm, and we couldn't get it cool. There were no robes or fluffy towels. The furninshings were run down. The nightstand drawer was falling apart, as well as the little bench at the end of the bed. The bed was not very comfortable either. The bathroom was rundown and there was hair in the tub and on the handtowel upon our arrival. I was very disappointed with this hotel...especially for the money you pay.
