Fodor's Review:
The Mill Grove Audubon Center was the first American home of Haitian-born artist and naturalist John James Audubon (1785-1851). Built in 1762, the house is now a museum displaying the major works of this renowned American naturalist, including his paintings of birds and wildlife, and an original copy of his massive Birds of America. The attic has been restored to a studio and taxidermy room. The National Audubon Society, which runs the museum, has restored these treasures and added others. Mill Grove, 2 mi north of Valley Forge National HIstoric Park, is within the 175-acre Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary, which has 5 mi of hiking trails.
