Fodor's Review:
Frequently confused with the University of Cincinnati and "Pill Hill," the city's hospital district, Clifton actually begins just to the north with the international restaurants and hip shops along Ludlow Avenue, also home to the independent throwback Esquire Theater. Primarily, Clifton is a beautiful residential area, much of it lined with the old gas-burning streetlights that have earned it the nickname the Gaslight District. Student rentals in the southern areas gradually give way to sprawling manors in the north.
