$$$, Murray Hill
Fodor's Review:
Kimpton hotels have something of a cult following with design enthusiasts, and whether you're one of the devout or not, you should be pleased with New York's first offering from this contemporary hotel group. The lobby, with its limestone fireplace and thick-pillowed couches, looks like a well-appointed living room, and is the location for the evening wine reception. The rest of the hotel channels a prosperous Park Avenue abode; neutral-palette rooms have ultrasuede chairs and couches, plasma TVs, and woven silk blankets. Silverleaf Tavern serves modern-American small plates, and the bar is comfortable even if you're alone.
