The main hotel is the more affordable and less fabulous lodging component of Mandalay Bay, but it's still a first-rate property with cavernous rooms. Prices still do run pretty high. Bathrooms have understated, elegant stone floors and counters as well as deep soaking tubs with separate showers. The breezy, low-key decor is luxurious without being overbearing.

Will never go back
Posted by Gablefan from Central Ohio on 4/25/08
We stayed here in 2004 and really loved it. However, that was before the MGM conglomerate took it over and before the monorail from Luxor/Excalibur came through. We went back in December 2007 and had a horrible time. Lots of little kids running around, some literally running up and down the hallways outside our door all night long. Try to get something to eat after 10 pm...just try! All the restaurants were closed, except the coffee shop, which had a wait of over an hour. We decided to try room service...and were told that would be a 50 minute wait. We checked out early and won't be returning.

Watch out for weekends!

My wife and I looked forward to staying here, but the neighbors were loud and the walls paper-thin, we didn't get any sleep that night. The facilities in the casino were great, but upon checkout, the registration person stated it wasn't their fault about the noise, because after all, Las Vegas is a 24 hour city. I don't agree with the attitude or the rooms. I'd visit during the day but won't stay there again overnight.

Highly recommended

Stayed here this weekend for a conference. Beautifl property, very plush and resort-like. You could spend a week just enjoying the property without ever leaving. Lots of food choices, entertainment, and the cleanliness and service were exemplary. No wait for check-in or check out and all of our requests were easily accommodated in a very professional and prompt manner - the service associates were obviously well renovation in certain spots but ample room for enjoyment and did not impact the quality of our stay in any way. I would highly recommend this to anyone - especially if you can get a good rate and are debating between this and another strip property - pick Mandalay Bay.

Very Busy Pool Area
Posted by Angela from Wisconsin on 5/3/06
The pool is great, however forget about getting a chair, unless you have waited an hour before opening in line. The hotel is very large and spread out. I would not stay here again. I would rather stay somewhere smaller and in the middle of the strip.

Bad Choice
Posted by Patricia from Charlotte, NC on 4/10/06
We recently stayed at Mandalay Bay while in town for my husband's business convention. I was so disappointed when I walked into our room for the first time. The furniture was all beat up and the carpet had stains everywhere. Not what I expected for one of the nicer hotels in Vegas. The rooms were no nicer than your average Holiday Inn and seemed very dirty. We stayed for two nights and then moved to the Bellagio for only $30 more per night. Will never stay at Mandalay again. The common areas (casino, shops, etc.) were very nice, though.

More expensive than The Four Season Hotel upstairs
Posted by Kimberly from Chicago on 11/5/05
The public rooms at this hotel are very nice. But! the guest rooms are awful and the service is worse. Plus they charge more than The Four Seasons Hotel upstairs. It took an hour every time I ordered anything from Room Service. The room is sparsely furnished. There is one small table in the room. If you are working on your computer on that table, there is no place to put a room service tray execept on the floor! Room service does not deliver on carts as the Four Seasons does. The lighting in my room was too dark to work on my computer. Two days in a row, I asked them for a floor lamp and never got it. There is no coffee pot in the room as there is at the Four Seasons. So you wait an hour in the morning for your coffee. The decor is very tacky. The front desk and management just doesn't care and won't respond. They say that they have so many people to take care of, they can't help you. The cost of rooms was the same at both hotels. But, Internet access was $11.95 at M.B. 9.95 at 4 Seasons. A glass of grapefruit juice costs $6 at M.B. and $4.25 at 4 Seasons. There were no lines at the elevators or restaurants at the Four Seasons. The Four Seasons offered me a $50 gift certificate that I could use for anything in the hotel. Why would any one put up with the bad service, bad room deocor and huge lines every where at the Madalay Bay Hotel? I never will again.
