The San Francisco original of this romantic restaurant has long been one of the best Indian restaurants in the country, and this branch at the Rio All-Suite Hotel delivers admirably. Dark wood and imported art create a refined setting for lavish, richly presented northern Indian food. Tamarind chicken; stir-fried lamb with peppers, onions, and tomatoes; and spiced lentils rank among the top entrées. Order a side of onion kulcha bread, and don't miss the starter of Bombay chicken wings tandoori. Although it's not open for lunch, Gaylord does serve a Friday-Sunday brunch buffet that's an excellent value.
